LEED Platinum certification was the driving force behind the design of the concrete supplied to the Chartwell School project. Incorporating sustainable design practices, the concrete utilized products that reduce both greenhouse gas emissions and virgin materials while improving reflectivity and ultimate compressive strength.

Many of the aggregates used were produced locally, a benefit in obtaining Materials Resource Credits for LEED certification.

Chartwell School is expected to receive Platinum Certification, the highest level offered through the LEED program. The Don Chapin Ready Mix Company assisted Chartwell School in attaining this esteemed award through the design of concrete that focused on Materials Resources and Recycled Content. Chartwell School is also seeking Innovation Credits for the complexity of the sustainable concrete design.
